The kang yatse 1 (6400m) lies to the southeast of Leh located in Markha valley known as Hemis national park, famous for Markha valley trek. It is the highest in the region and its beauty dominate entire Marka valley and attracts the climber to achieve its height. But one thing must is either you have basic training or accompany professional guide to summit this peak. Snow and ice remain throughout the year on this peak. Rest there are so many peaks to climb lower than the height of this. We can get to the base of this peak from four different ways:-

01. Chelling 56 km away from Leh to the southeast direction of Indus river. It takes four days from Cheling to reach base camp. And it is considered to be the best route to get there. It is helpful to get familiar with the altitude as you going higher day by day, you will really enjoy the exceptional view of the valley and opportunity to know the life style of the people living there.

02. The second route is Shang Sumdo around 50kms away Leh in the southeast direction of Indus river, ending point of famous Markha valley trek. 04. Kharnak (Dat) located in the valley of kharnak around 160 kms away from Leh town bit far from Leh. Takes around 5 hours to get there by taxi via Taklangla, considered as second highest motor able road in the whole world after Khardungla (18380ft).
