June to OctoberWhile on trekking, you will know the real villages of Ladakh and their way of living.
Tsomoriri to Spang, one of the most beautiful and trek in high altitude in the valley of changthang. Starts from Tsomoriri famous lake in Ladakh region, located in the village of Korzok known for nomadic life, takes around 5 to 6 hours to get there by vehicle, located in the valley of Korzok. And end at Spang lies to the south of Taklang la just ahead of Rumtse 3rd highest motorable road exist in Leh district. The area has unique landscape and lake like Tsokar (Salt water lake) is also there to see. While doing this trek you might get a chance to see wild life/birds, which survive in such a harsh environment. You will also get an opportunity to understand the life of Changpa nomads whose main occupation are to rear animals for their livelihood. Due to its high altitude in nature, fall in the category of bit hard. Need 10 days to complete this trek. Best period is between June to October.
Note:- proper acclimatization is needed to conduct trek in such a high atlitude area.
Leh toTsomoriri by drive
After having early breakfast at hotel/guest house, you have to start driving to Tsomoriri from Leh. Lunch can be taken at Chumathang hotsprings known for medicinal water throughout the region. Medium speed drive takes around 5 to 6 hours to reach there. Overnight in tent at the camp site.
Korzok to Gyaling Gyak
After having breakfast at camp site, you have to start walking toward Tsorkil which will take around 3 hours to reach at camp site. For today it is good to keep bit easy walk to understand and enjoy the environment and acclimatization properly. You will reach early at the camp site and relax rest of the time. Overnight in tent at the camp site.
Gyaling Gyak to Kyangdam
After breakfast, need to start trek to Kyangdam, which is a sport end of Tsomoriri lake. The trek is easy and the route is plain. You can enjoy the view of nature by see lots of high glaciers and beautiful peaks. Definitely feel heaven on earth Overnight in tent at campsite.
Kyangdam to Lato
Today after having breakfast at camp site, you will have to start trek to Lato. Feel the cool air of high glaciers and enjoy the view of beautiful peaks. Overnight in tent at camping site.
Lato to Thargang
Today the route is little gradual ups and downs. The route is short but bit tiring, takes around 3 hours to get to Pehlay kong. The trek end up at a beautiful camping site.
Thargang to Phelay
It’s an easy day today just need to walk for two hours. so you can start your trek late, choice is yours. Overnight in tent at the camp site.
Phaley kong to Zozang
After having breakfast at the camping site, you need to start move to Zozang from Phaley kong, It takes around 5 hours. distance is bit far with easy trails. Its possibly meet nomads on the way, with rearing herd of yaks, goats, sheep and etc. wildlife like wild ass can also be seen there. Overnight in tent at the camp site.
Zozang to Taktso
And todays distination is Taktso, we will start the trek from Zozang to Taktso. There will be a pass called Phelong in between the said distination. View in today’s route in beautiful. Over night in tent at Taktso camping site.
Taktso to Spang
After having breakfast at the camp site, you have to start trek to taktso to Spang magnificent. The campsite is nice and quiet. Overnight in the tent at the camping site.
Spang to leh
Drive to Leh via Taklang la takes around 4 to 5 hours easy drive. On the way you can visit Hemis monastery, Thiksay and Shey. Famous in Ladakh among tourist.
